Fostering Inclusive Communities for Learning

In this course, participants will strategize ways to build an environment where a wide range of students feel safe, respected, and comfortable enough to collaborate and learn.

Goals:

  • Establish course policies that encourage inclusivity and respect and communicate those intentions to students
  • Develop strategies to make students feel safer, more comfortable, and more respected in learning environments
  • Understand how to encourage and respond to student feedback

Participants will develop tools for communicating effectively with students and facilitating positive interactions among members of their class. This is part of the 3-part, Teaching for Inclusivity and Accessibility Certificate of Completion.

Time Commitment

6-9 Hours - mainly self-paced with instructor guidance and feedback throughout.
