Teaching methods including the “flipped classroom” and Team-Based Learning (TBL) require students to pre-learn course materials before a teaching session, where exercises rely on students using self-gained knowledge. This is the reverse to “traditional” teaching when course materials are presented during a lecture, and students are assessed on that material during another session at a later stage. This two-hour interactive workshop describes an introductory orientation class session that prepares and engages students to successfully participate in courses requiring pre-learning.
If you have missed some of our TBL workshops over the past year, here is your chance to catch up and immerse yourself in TBL for a couple of days! We are presenting our “TBL Boot Camp” on Wednesday-Friday, June 6-8th. Invite your teaching colleagues who might be interested in adding TBL to their teaching toolkit.
Please check out our “TBL at UF” web page for details and registration links: http://facdev.ufhealth.org/resources/tblatuf/.
